ABOUT THE 2027 CALENDAR: HUNT COUNTRY
"If you're listening you can hear my brush drag across the paper. Somehow, in the raw study of a subjects is an intensely elegant core. If you focus, you can feel the movement of my eyes to the subject and back again as my hand makes little motions and then big motions; A glance up, a judgement, a movement of the wrist; pigment moves on the paper as my eyes shift searching to impart the right distance of negative space; a pool of paint at a pause, and then a slow drag of the brush against the paper in a deliberate thin delicate detail. Painting is quiet work if you’re listening but intense and exciting if you're paying attention.

This year's calendar celebrates the elegance of form and idea in black and white studies. Many of these pieces were where larger more complex paintings were born. Here, in many ways, is the Genesis of the hunt collection. This collection is paired with gold foil stamping which makes this my favorite calendar of the bunch. (but I'd never admit to saying that in front of the others!) Cheers to a very refined 2027, my friend!"
