Palm Beach Collection Spring 2024

The Moonlight in Palm Beach is as captivating as the sunshine. The air as midnight blue silk. With only a handful of moonscapes in my portfolio, this one is inspired by an evening spent at the Breakers after dinner in November. Lingering in awe of the beautiful ocean and sky and stars and clouds with the great facade of the Breakers at our backs.
We know not what was said, only how we felt.

A perpetual muse, a perpetual sense of wonder for me and my paint brushes: Palm Beach. Each time I visit this island I wonder if its magic will ever wear off on me. It doesn’t. It’s every bit as dazzling as it ever has been. With each iteration of Palm Beach, my perspectives develop, deepen. Each time I arrive in Palm Beach, I turn a corner and see a composition I haven't captured and it drives me to my palette. Some scenes I've painted several times, others are new endeavors – but each is special and delightfully Palm Beach.


ORIGINAL ARTWORK: 
Each original painting has been painted on 140 lb French watercolor paper with a variety of high quality pigments that show off the brilliant color of each location. The paper and the pigment come together to give a truly unique artwork. There is only one of each.

Original art is the most valuable; the most sought after; the most desired. At our worst, we have stolen, betrayed, and killed for it. At our best, we have humbly cried before it-and it’s changed our hearts and lives and world view and perspective for the better.

In creating, the artist is imparting herself onto the paper. An artist’s hand in creating the work of art mimics our ultimate creator. In owning the original you’re owning a glimpse of the alpha. Lydia’s artwork is created on French watercolor paper with a variety of high quality pigments and brushes that are all collected in striving to imbue her paintings with a sense of the meaning that sits just beyond our gaze.
