ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Hamptons

There is something about The Hamptons I immediately fell for. I didn't' intend it.
It was in spite of my best effort to be rather unimpressed; I fell hook line and sinker. Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered; what a beautiful and so American place.
Inspired by time spent during the Summer meandering down streets and peaking through hedges and dazing into the sunshine sparkling through the trees. The Hamptons Collection is another unintended collection that bubbled to the surface from admiration and a sudden rush of falling in love with a place.

ABOUT THE PIECE:

The Hamptons are lined with hedges everywhere you look; affectionately called Privets.
This scene was modeled after a chic designers garden - brimming with hydrangeas and mystery; the best kind of Hamptons; we don't quite know what's beyond the hedge- but an invite beyond the hedge is exactly what everyone is looking for.

Original Artwork

Original art is the most valuable; the most sought after; the most desired. At our worst, we have stolen, betrayed, and killed for it. At our best, we have humbly cried before it-and it’s changed our hearts and lives and world view and perspective for the better.

In creating, the artist is imparting herself onto the paper. An artist’s hand in creating the work of art mimics our ultimate creator. In owning the original you’re owning a glimpse of the alpha. Lydia’s artwork is created on French watercolor paper with a variety of high quality pigments and brushes that are all collected in striving to imbue her paintings with a sense of the meaning that sits just beyond our gaze.
