Hopefully we’ve all solved the problem of how to cut a pomegranate by watching several youtube videos by now and are on to staring endlessly at the subtle changes of color and the incredible texture of this fruit as we gobble down it’s sweetness.
The Winter Series: There is a different kind of light in each season, scrutinized and studied by the artists on their various forms of subject matter. The winter light, like it’s temperature, is cooler—it touches objects with an almost ambivalent gaze. The soft and warm shadows cast by the carefree things of summer-- fluffy peonies or juicy peaches are too vulnerable. But the Magnolia bloom’s structure feels so sophisticated in the winter’s still coolness. Delicate but strong.
The rich color of the fruit that basks in the winter sun in warmer regions bursts forth to bring joy insistently- confidently.
