The American Road Trip
The Flaggler Museum
Palm Beach, Florida

This painting was completed in response to American photographer Slim Aaron’s 1969 Portrait of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leas. Also in response to the phrase from F. Scott Fitzgerald, “It was always the becoming he dreamed of, never the being.”

A vivid representation of the Museum that so impacted Lydia’s travels in Palm Beach earlier this year. This painting is the first stop along the American Road Trip Series, completely depicted in the 2019 Desk Calendar. The collection was developed in response to several American authors and artists who influenced me through composition, attitude, texture, color, emotion, and spirit of the artwork. The series was in an attempt to capture the timeless American Spirit and focus on the good, pure, nostalgia, purity, and joy of American life.

This is an original watercolor painting on arches watercolor paper measuring 8” x 8 and is signed by the artist.

A limited quantity of prints are also available of this print measuring 8” x 8.”
