Fashion Week's Best Runway Designs: Carolina Herrera f/w 16

by Lydia Marie Elizabeth

Good morning, Monday!
Should you have not been online at all this weekend, make sure to see all of my runway illustrations from this past Fashion Week! Starting with Kate Spade New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Chanel.

Here is the fourth and final of four Runway Designs I will be showcasing from New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016.  They are all brilliant.  Which one is your favorite?

Carolina Herrera

This one is almost unfair.  Carolina Herrera knocked everyone out of the park entirely when she first showcased at the Frick Collection museum.  This fashion week was her second time showing at the Frick.  And remarkably, while this setting was not created especially for her particular collection, it showcased the line and spoke to the timelessness of elegance and excellence in craftsmanship both in fashion and in architecture; each setting one another off effortlessly and perfectly.
The cool of the stone columns accented with the warmth of the above pendants provoked the chiffon to glow and the models to float rather than stomp.  This setting truly brought viewers back in time when ladies would gather in small salons to see the latest fashions from a particular seamstress.

Cheers to Carolina. #winner

What do you think? Which show was your favorite this last week? Or which was your favorite illustration? Carolina takes the cake in my book, and I don't think I could even pick a single look from her collection as a favorite. As far as illustrations go, Polo and Carolina are my favorite of this group! They might find a place on my wall, or they might find a place in my shop which is expanding on February 29th! Don't miss it!
