It's National Iced Tea day! (Not to be confused with Ice Tea.)
This is very exciting, as I am an avid lover of iced tea.
A few years ago I went to a party with my best friend set among the rolling hills of Virginia, and there was a sign near the drink table which read "Ice Tea!" among the drink options.
I have forever been noticing when this is written on menus at fancy restaurants or deli shops. While my own grammar and spelling habits (particularly via text) tend to be far from perfection, I take amusement out of grammatical errors and the juxtaposition between their intended meaning and their true meaning.
But as far as my own experience has gone, "iced" or "Ice" these givers of tea do, indeed, intend to sell you the very same thing.
Similar to National Doughnut Day, National Iced Tea Day brings us various wonderful opportunities to partake in one of the South's best beverages!
Snapple and Inko are both offering coupons for a free bottle of iced tea, which you can take advantage of here and here. But here are three spots you may waltz into today and receive a free iced tea!
Teavana- is giving away a 16 oz Pineapple Berry Blue Iced Tea (yum?!)
Wendy's- from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. is giving a 12 oz Blueberry Pineapple Fruitea Chiller.
(Summer of the Pineapple, perhaps?)
And! One of my favorite little locations, simply because it's french AND delicious:
La Madeleine County French Cafe is giving you their Mango Breeze iced tea when you mention their promotion!
As I write this I am scrambling out of the door on my way to find my very own iced tea delight!
Hip Hip Hooray for these opportunities!
Now, shoo, go get refreshed and thank your southern ancestors!
