Well, the snow has subsided, for the moment, and it is now just cold, and I feel like I have blogged in forever. Since it is currently Fashion Week in New York City, I would love to share with you a recent commission project I've been working on.
We all are well aware of the power of social media, and in this case, I owe my instagram account to being connected with fashion buyer, Charrell Carter. She founded Vivian Eberhart Boutique to partner with emerging fashion designers and showcase the latest and greatest!
She has started her business online through an eCommerce site; and with all the wonders of modern technology, the only thing a website doesn't offer you, is physical space. A store to waltz in and out of and peruse new products. This is the cause for the fancy dressing room you see in front of you.
She wanted to create a space that was vibrant and sophisticated! What better way to accomplish this by contacting an interior designer and illustrator all in one?! It was indeed my Dream Closet that caught her attention. She was wanting me to paint an interior which would transcend the seasons of changing fashion and showcase designers work in a space that blended the high end with the vintage elements that so inspire her when she is seeking her modern designers.
I drew on designers like Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch to create the interior design in these illustrations.
We have worked together over the last few months to create a overall store view which features a stunning staircase, a jewelry section, a shoe and handbag section, and this dressing room space. You can see all these things when she launches her website, as each illustration will be showcased on the different sections of her website.
Charrell is currently working with web designer Siedah Mitchum who aids emerging brands with their web development and branding process.
It has been a fun and exciting project and we are still working on more fun things.
Here's to Fashion Week NY!
